Hi Wendy and thanks for your question. I have so many books that I've enjoyed. Here are a few to recommend:
The Way of Wyrd by Brian Bates
The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness (Starts with Discovery of Witches)
the Practical Magic series by Alice Hoffman
The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe.
If these authors aren't practicing witches, they are probably historians who've done a load of research.
Please let me know which you enjoy. And look for Book 2 in my Ancient Magic series, hopefully later this year. It's tentatively titled Stones of the Ancients.
