I read your story in F&SF -- and was very "taken" with it. But, since you described how Faine actually "wrote" the story, I have a few questions. 1. When you describe Lark asking Faine to "transport" her, then Faine tells LArk to start touching him (i.e., Faine). You describe how Lark does this until she starts to cry. WHY would she cry when she was the one touching Faine?? 2. More questions to follow...

J.A. Pak Lark was very moved by the experience. People often cry or laugh when deeply moved. No doubt, there were times when Lark laughed as well.
