Anne Slater
Anne Slater asked Charles Todd:

Do you start with a mutually created outline? Do you take turns writing sections or do you "pass" the text back and forth?

Charles Todd Dear Anne:

Caroline hated outlines. In college and grad school she would write the paper and then do the outline. I guess you could call us "seat of the pants" writers. We wrote the books a section/scene at a time with both of us building on the other's work. No one taught us to collaborate so we found what worked best for us. I loved what Caroline would say, "If you know how it ends where is the fun in writing the book?".

That is all well and good but, the closer you get to the word count for the book the more urgent it becomes to figure it out!!

All the Best,
Charles
