As an Indie author, one hurdle I find is successful marketing. Getting someone to notice you when you are swimming in a sea of fish is often overwhelming. I refuse to give up though. Could you pass on some secrets of the trade to us little people :)? I would appreciate any of your advice. I also want to wish you the best of luck with all your future. The OutQ interview was great. I have nothing but admiration for you.

Thank you, Marc. Marketing is tough. When it comes to social media, the data I've seen guests Facebook is a far more useful tool for author promotion than Twitter. On social media in general, my advice is craft your posts to make sure you're targeting the right audience, and by right audience, I mean provide content relevant to people who actually want to buy books. If you're someone who courts controversy and always has an opinion about every news story, that might generate a lot of activity on your page, but not necessarily the type of activity that draws an audience for your fiction. If the news stories are connected to the content of your novels, that's a different story.

I could swear I read once that you resigned as president of Lambda Literary to protest them changing the rules so that only LGBT authors could be eligible for the Lambda Literary Award. Am I crazy? Because in Googling it, I can find no evidence of this. Can you clarify what went down?

I read 'A Density of Souls' a number of years ago, and it is one story that just won't seem to let me go (also the first book to ever bring a tear to my eye). I doubt that justice can truly be done by turning it into a film, but is there any chance that we will ever see it made into one?! Keep up the great work!
