Can someone explain the ending to me? I was listening to it on audio and was getting bored and skipped to the last 4 chapters. I read there was a twist ending so I skipped ahead a few chapters and I'm confused. **SPOILER** I get that Thomas was a ghost; I figured that would be a twist before I knew about the twist. But what I'm lost at is: how did he get to the house? At what point did this whole murder thing start?

After he killed his wife and Thomas he lost his mind and went straight to the Rotter house as he'd already planned from before the murders. The police found him 12 days later.(less)
