So glad you dug the book. Thanks so much for letting me know and for the question. I do love all things spooky and macabre, for sure, and the short answer to your question is: No, I don't believe in ghosts, and that's almost solely because I've never had an experience with one despite my life being so intertwined with visiting spook spots. That said, I'm sincerely glad that other people believe. I actually wrote a short essay on this topic, if you're interested: http://www.oddthingsiveseen.com/2016/.... Thanks again for the question.(less)

Thank MB in RVA,

Glad you dug the book. Unfortunately, it's the publisher who is in charge of any corrections, no myself. Here's an interesting article on it from a few years back: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/...

I don’t use the term bonkers lightly, but in this episode, I’m going to tell you about two of the most bonkers museums I’ve ever been to. And that image you have in your head when I say “museum”? Throw it out. Doesn’t apply. Oddly enough, both of these museums have very boring names, despite being places of breathless bizarrerie and ov...

More of J.W.'s books…
“It was a strange experience to be looking out the window of an eighteenth-century Chinese house at a seventeenth-century colonial graveyard full of people in twenty-first-century Halloween costumes. Salem, guys.”
J.W. Ocker, A Season with the Witch: The Magic and Mayhem of Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts

“When you place a man like Poe in your rot garden, you need to holy it up real fast, so three years after Poe was buried, they built a church in the graveyard. Actually, they built a church on top of the graveyard.”
J.W. Ocker, Poe-Land: The Hallowed Haunts of Edgar Allan Poe

“That’s generally the way things go. The States has cool stuff, but we don’t know it until Europe clues us in. Like the blues.”
J.W. Ocker, Poe-Land: The Hallowed Haunts of Edgar Allan Poe
