What was your inspiration to write the Finishing School Series?

Gail Carriger I adore young adult literature. Since a librarian passed me Alanna: The First Adventure by Tamora Pierce I've been hooked. To this day it's my favorite genre to read. There's something breezy and tidy about the best YA novels. I find them comfortably immersive and I can finish one in a single afternoon. I've always been fascinated by all girls boarding schools since reading The Little Princess when I was a child. And I love spy novels. So I just wrapped them all up together.

With the end of the Finishing School coming soon will you be launching a new series based on the characters? I would love to hear what happens in the future with Sophronia, Dimity, Pillover, Soap and Mersey. On a personal note, thank you for writing a young adult series. My 9 year old daughter cannot wait to be old enough to read this series.

Hi, I really enjoy your books but have stumbled upon a challenge acquiring Soulless digitally. Being in Finland, I am directed to US Amazon for ebooks, and it is the only one not available for a while now. I placed an order for the Parasol series in one volume on B&N, which was declined (region?). And on Apple Books all others are available, except Soulless. Do you have any idea of what is going on?
