Why couldn’t you have gotten “The Empire’s Ruin” published 7/02 instead of 7/06 so I could have spent my 3-day weekend devouring it? Kidding, but just realized I have no idea if authors have any input on the exact publication dates of their books (beyond when one submits a final draft). Do you? I loved “Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne” & can’t wait to buy this book on July 6 and start reading, work be damned!

Hi Lee--So sorry for the comically late reply. I'm not on Goodreads all that much. Thanks so much for reading! As for timing--no, I have no power over that at all. The publisher (TOR, in this case), aims for a steady release of titles over the course of the year, so it's really a question of the larger picture rather than what they're up to with any one book...

Just noticed you were from the good ole 802. I grew up around the Stratton area. With the woods as my stomping grounds, spent copious hours stick as sword, battling off fierce non-existent enemies. Alas, those days have past. I still hike and explore all Vermont has to offer, but for my imaginative side I turn to books. I was wondering, are any settings or concepts in the chronicles inspired by the greenmountainstate?
