Gr(Ace) I honestly think it’s a plot hole? I didn’t notice until I saw your question but I went back and re-read that section and it just doesn’t make sense based on what we know of Augie’s timeline. Unless maybe Augie bought himself another identical knife after he gave the first one to his sister?
