Ksenia asked:

For a layperson, would this book be easier to consume as an audiobook or as an actual printed copy?

Savannah That depends on each individual's ways of processing information and their personal preferences
Patrick Moore The audiobook version of this had an unfortunate reader. They should have had Sapolsky read it himself.
I recommend you go to YouTube, search for Sapolsky Stanford, and watch or listen to the 20 lectures there. The book BEHAVE is structured the same as this class lectures.
Connor Jensen It all comes down to personal preference. I am by no means a professional, rather just interested in science and psychology. I do have some background in the information but there are extra bits to prep you for the information in the chapters to get you up to speed. Personally I like reading the paper versions of books like this because I like to keep track of research papers cited and find different connections throughout the book and some of my other notes.
