Goodreads asked Richard Diedrichs:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Richard Diedrichs As I said elsewhere, I think writers are compelled to write. It's like we have to do it. We can't help ourselves. If this is the case, a writer, aspiring or otherwise, will write, will throw herself or himself into the process, take the bumps, feel the agony and ecstasy, and keep writing. And it is so much a process. Once things are going, everything starts to happen.
