For me, even if I'm stuck, and I'm always kind of stuck (because it can be grueling) when I'm writing (as opposed to revising), I let it have its own process. I did not feel like writing yesterday, in fact I was avoiding it. Today, I'm ready to get into it. Or I might just put in a few minutes and not worry about it.

There was a time when I didn't write for about four years (I was feeling discouraged) and it was hard. But, I went through that and eventually I started writing something, and I was back. Just be as conscious as possible, don't be too hard on yourself, and follow your gut.(less)

If this is the case, a writer, aspiring or otherwise, will write, will throw herself or himself into the process, take the bumps, feel the agony and ecstasy, and keep writing. And it is so much a process. Once things are going, everything starts to happen.(less)

“How can I write a book? you might say. I've got nothing to say. Don't let that stop you. Very few writers have anything to say. The trick is to see how long you can conceal that from the reader. The most successful writers are ones who've been able to get away with it for the greatest number of pages and years.”
Bruce Jay Friedman
