You are hands down the best writer I have read. The books always surprise me and the plots are very well written. Please never stop writing. I absolutely love your books and have made it my life's mission to read all of them. As for the question. I wanted to ask you, how do you think up ideas for new books, are the plots roughly fully formed when you begin to write a book or do you build it up as you go?

Hi Joshua,
Thank you for the kind words.
I typically start with a big idea or scientific question I want to answer then write a broad outline of the story and develop biographies for the characters. From there, I write a first draft of the story. During the drafting process, I find that characters surprise me and the plot often changes a bit.
Thanks again,
- Gerry

About Lost in Time: If the reason for creating Absalom 2 was to get Sam back, then the reason Adeline was able to time travel in the first place (in the "first timeline", before the first time travel) was Nora's murder. And since she hadn't time traveled yet, Daniele didn't exist yet and couldn't stage Nora's murder. So, who murdered Nora in the first timeline?

Hi Gerry, I wanted to reach out and express how much I have enjoyed the Long Winter series. Recently, I delved into Quantum Radio and found it to be a captivating read. This led me to explore the fascinating topic of Quantum Entanglement. Out of curiosity, I'm intrigued to know: What book have you found most enjoyable to write? Additionally, I'm curious about your process for gaining inspiration for your books.
