Paulo "paper books only"
asked:
A racist novel - why is not censored as The Turner Diaries was? Both are racist although one for whites and other for blacks.

I'm pretty sure whites were never marginalized because of their race.... 🙄

You're confusing racism with racist. The book deals with racism, if that makes you uncomfortable, well . . .

Sadly, the US has a frustrating and complicated relationship with race, and particularly privilege when someone is perceived as "white." There have even been laws about ownership of "whiteness" and what other ethnicities are considered "white," in terms of rights and the law. Irish and Italian immigrants were originally not considered "white" in the US, for instance. It seems to me this novel is science fiction, and it's intended to shed light on some of the issues we have not resolved, and how desperation could push people back toward older, racist thinking. I haven't read it yet, so I can't be sure, but I don't think it's "anti-white" it's a warning, and considering what has been happening politically in the last few years, it isn't that far-fetched.

To whom is your question directed? You live in Portugal - you can figure out what goes on there. If you are asking about in the USA - we don’t censor books.
