Hi Michael, I loved Ascendant (just finished reading it yesterday, actually!), but I was curious: where do mystic dragons get their motes from? Brode mentions that they come from thoughts, but how does that work? Also, are there any dragons that get motes from the sun, or does that fall into the fire dragon category? Thank you!

(view spoiler)[Hi Gabby! Thanks for reading! How the thoughts contribute to mystic motes will be dealt with more in depth in book 2, so while I am still writing it I don't want to make anything definitive. As for dragon types, the world only knows of the five main types (and now a few know about Ash). Again, book 2 deals with the consequence of Ash hatching, and other eggs may now be hatched where they were previously destroyed, meaning a bunch of new types are about to be discovered. A solar dragon could be one of them...

Hey Michael! Figured I'd ask here instead of on Twitter: How's book three of The Dragon's Blade coming along? Honestly looking forward to the finale! I also saw that Dave Cruse started recording the audiobook for Veiled Intentions early May. Any ETA on when the book will hit Audible?

Just finished your short story in the Lost Lore anthology and really enjoyed it. I'll definitely read the Dragon's Blade series. Too bad Elsie is just in this story. She's a great character. I'd love to have seen how things played out once she & Balliol started serving the king. I'd like to think they eventually made Lord Heath suffer the consequences of his actions. Any chance there is a follow up short story?
