Goodreads asked Michael Webb:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Michael Webb It's not something I've run into much so far. Usually I have an idea of the story I want to tell. What trips me up is a small detail of how to tie pieces together that stops me. I've found that when I'm driving somewhere or going for a run, I'll use that time to think through the story and brainstorm where I want it to go. Often it comes as lightning-bolt moments, and out of nowhere, I'll tell my wife in the car, "Aha! I just solves a plot issue in my book!" Then, by the time I get back to writing, I know exactly where I want the story to go.
