Michael Webb The 6 novels of the Shadow Knights series as well as the prequel novella are all out on paperback. "Shadow Knights Academy" was an early idea I had of building a new series around the Shadow Knights and their training center. It would be potentially in the past or the future in relation to Veron's timeline. The idea remains in my list of potential projects, but it's not currently at the top of my priority list. We'll see what comes down the road.
Michael Webb I'm so glad you enjoyed the series, Abigail! All 6 books were a blast to write, and I'm really proud of how they came out. It means the world to me to know other people enjoyed them. Unfortunately, the series will end with 6 books though. I'm moving on to other projects now. My new series I'm working on at the moment (1st book will be called Lightbinder) should have a very similar feel to the Shadow Knights, so I think you will enjoy it. Tentative publish date of this fall.

Michael Webb Haha, yes you're right. Originally I intended for the series to be only 3 books. After that "trilogy" finished I wanted to continue the story, so I'm starting a new set of 3 more books (books 4-6). I'm referring to the second set as "Shadow Knights Generations" because it follows the next generation of knights.

As far as the content goes...I write my books for adults but make them content appropriate for younger readers. My son was 12 when I wrote the Last Shadow Knight and I wanted to make sure it was something I'd be comfortable with him reading. So my readers now range from early teens to 80+ in age. But also personally...I do prefer books with less PG13/R content, so my writing will always tend that way.
Michael Webb I do! I actually have 3 new series planned. The first will be a new trilogy that takes place right after the current one. It will continue with some of the same characters but begin a new story arc. After that, I plan a series called Shadow Knights Academy. It will be hundreds of years earlier, back with the Shadow Knights first began. The series will deal with the different adventures and missions they go on. Finally, I want to do a totally different series in a new world. It will be a YA treasure hunting series, where a group of teens go on adventures to track down ancient treasures. Lots to do! :-)
Michael Webb My current WIP is Book 2 of the Shadow Knights Trilogy. When I wrote The Last Shadow Knight (Book 1), I had no idea how much people would ask for (aka. demand) the next one! Haha. That's given me extra motivation, so I'm working at it now!
Michael Webb I've always loved reading. I enjoy exciting stories with good characters, a fun plot, surprises, and people to cheer for. Eventually, I decided how cool it would be to build my own story...something I could create and share with others. I wanted to make people interested in a story I created and give them the chance to ride the highs and lows of exploring a book I built from scratch. So I started writing. :-) Over time, I've learned a ton about writing a compelling story, and now that I've learned so much, I'm excited to do more!
Michael Webb It's not something I've run into much so far. Usually I have an idea of the story I want to tell. What trips me up is a small detail of how to tie pieces together that stops me. I've found that when I'm driving somewhere or going for a run, I'll use that time to think through the story and brainstorm where I want it to go. Often it comes as lightning-bolt moments, and out of nowhere, I'll tell my wife in the car, "Aha! I just solves a plot issue in my book!" Then, by the time I get back to writing, I know exactly where I want the story to go.
