I have your Four Corners trilogy and have read your new book Mass. What made you switch from fantasy to something with a theme about faith/religion?

Kristin Durfee I am always intrigued by characters who start a journey believing in one thing and then having that questioned and evolve during their journey. For both Levi and Stevie, that belief was in themselves, so while one did that in the way of magic and dragons and the other did it in a more religious manner, I think they are still two very similar experiences.
Figuring out what one believes (and doesn't believe) is a really powerful thing I think most people go through in their lives.
