I am always intrigued by characters who start a journey believing in one thing and then having that questioned and evolve during their journey. For both Levi and Stevie, that belief was in themselves, so while one did that in the way of magic and dragons and the other did it in a more religious manner, I think they are still two very similar experiences.
Figuring out what one believes (and doesn't believe) is a really powerful thing I think most people go through in their lives.

Keep writing! Even if it isn't any good. Writing can also be humbling and overwhelming at times. I think self-doubt goes with the territory. You read a book that is so good and forget that the author had to probably edit and re-write it a bunch of times before it made it to press. I try to calm my fears and remind myself that no book is perfect the first draft!
Plus, you can't edit a blank page, so it's best just to get something out, then sift through it later to see if there is anything good, chances are there is.

Having a creative outlet. I am a scientist my profession, so it is wonderful for me to be able to live in a make-believe world sometimes.

I am currently editing the second book the the Four Corners trilogy. Editing is a lot of work! Sometimes even more than getting the original idea out! I am hoping to submit it to my publisher by the end of summer. I am also currently working on the final installment as well, and trying to figure out what comes next!
