But it feels like it's definitely a Gothic Horror and fits rather neatly into the genre. Gothic Horror is a pretty different beast when compared to plain old horror. It's neither gory nor terrifiying. It's characterized by hauntings, fixations on death, and often a blurred distinction on what's real and possibly imagined. Many gothic horrors don't even conclude whether any actual haunting took place or if it was all in the mind. Like Turn of the Screw for example. (less)
