Hi Brian! I just finished reading Funeral For A Friend and loved it!! Great story line and the suspense kept me reading for hours. My question is: How did you come up with the setting being Duluth, MN?? I found it very interesting to recognize many of the street names and other locations of the city. I grew up in northwestern Wisconsin with Duluth being 40 miles away. Drove those slippery snowy hilly roads often!

Thanks, Loretta! Yes, those crazy-steep San Francisco-style streets...hard to believe anyone in the Midwest thought that was a good idea!!
Duluth has a perfect combination of elements for my stories...all the natural beauty, the faded glory of the buildings. It's big enough that you can imagine dark things happening there but small enough that you're always bumping into your past around every corner.

Brian - no need to respond to the question I just sent you about the possibility of more Stride books. I should have scrolled further to see that you have already answered this question multiple times. Looking forward to another Stride book whenever he makes his reappearance! (apparently this e-form won't let me post without including a question mark, so even though I no longer have a question, here it is: ? )

First, thank you so much for answering. I loved Shelby and the whole town. Since I became ill and had to give up teaching, my reading has become all the more important. I have Sjogren's Syndrome, which also affects short term memory. Some books just don't grab my interest and I read the same page over and over. Not so with Deep.. Thank you for renewing my love of reading. I'm going to begin TRF now!?!
