(view spoiler)[I have enjoyed all 4 Bobiverse books now as well as your other books. I was wondering why they couldn’t just transport Bender instead of physically carrying him all the way out? Earlier in Heaven’s River you make a point of describing transporting as being distinct from cloning in that it involves no drift. I enjoyed the chase scenes, but kept wondering why they don’t just transport him out? Thank you. (hide spoiler)]

They didn't have the hardware. Think about Hugh taking a week to transport himself over a relay that was at least intended for large-volume comms. The SCUT relays in the mannies are just big enough for the job they're doing, which is an order of magnitude too small.
And Bender didn't have any SCUT hardware on him, which is why Bob had to wire into the microphone and speakers to talk to him.

I understand that Audible pays well for exclusives but it sure sucks as a fan. Books are not where I am they require me to be where they are. Personally, I use a Kobo reader and prefer it over a Kindle but I can't get books I want from Kobo because industry behemoth Amazon won't allow it. Again, I get it. This is your job and you want money, as do we all, and would rather alienate a few fans than lose that sweet mon?

Just finished book 1 and half way through of listening to book 2, already bought 3 and the 4th will follow soon enough. I love the story so far but the added value for me is that Ray Porters voice makes Bob (mainly the original one) sound and feel like Tony Stark from "Iron Man" - somewhat intentional/coincidental or just my imagination?
