The characters never really fleshed out much, either. In the end, it wasn't one I wished I hadn't taken the time to finish, but I was kind of relieved to reach the end, which was a neat idea that the author didn't seem to know how to really deliver, either. After taking 600 pages to build to the end, it was then kind of rushed and only half explained and ended a little abruptly.(less)
