Should I read the Shadowhunter Chronicles in the chronological order? If so, then what is the most recent chronological order?

Tory It would be great if you read Infernal Devices before Last Hours as there are spoilers about what happens to Tessa, Will and Jem (and most of the other characters) and it ruins the experience for Infernal Devices as the plot twist is as a matter of fact revealed....If you are not planning to read Infernal Devices then go ahead and read TLH.......

the order recommended by Cassandra Clare-
-The Mortal Instruments, Part One
City of Bones
City of Ashes
City of Glass
-The Eldest Curses, Part One
The Red Scrolls of Magic
-The Infernal Devices
Clockwork Angel
Clockwork Prince
Clockwork Princess
-The Mortal Instruments, Part Two
City of Fallen Angels
City of Lost Souls
City of Heavenly Fire
-The Bane Chronicles
-Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy
-The Eldest Curses, Part Two
The Lost Book of the White
-The Dark Artifices
Lady Midnight
Lord of Shadows
Queen of Air and Darkness
-Ghosts of the Shadow Market
-The Last Hours
Chain of Gold
Chain of Iron (March 2021)
-The Shadowhunter’s Codex
Zoe Garrett Yes, you at least need to read The Infernal Devices before you read the last hours. It would make WAYYYYYY more sense.
Katie Not really, no. It is definitely not necessary to read The Mortal Instruments and The Dark Artifices before The Last Hours. Theoretically, you could even read Chain of Gold without ever having read another Shadowhunter book. Personally, I would recommend reading The Infernal Devices (Clockwork Angel, Prince, and Princess) before getting to Chain of Gold, though.
