Good day Jodi: I'm reading book 3 and I'm wondering; why are the mission folks, not using under the skin, tracking devices?
Jodi Taylor
Hi Michel - thanks for your very excellent question. Which is what politicians say when the answer is less than very excellent. When I started writing these books it obviously made sense for them to have some sort of tracking device but as an author, I couldn't make it too easy. I couldn't have them saying, 'Oh God, we've lost Max again but never mind - she's half a mile away in that direction,' so I gave them tags and tag readers but they couldn't be that efficient otherwise there would be no drama. (Lack of drama is not often a feature of St Mary's life but you know what I mean.) Hence, tag readers that work quite well when the author wants them too and less well when she doesn't.
There's an episode in Book 4 when the tag reader works too well and another in Book 11 when it doesn't. Blame the author - I do.
Best regards, Jodi.

Hi Jodi, after re-reading St. Mary‘s and the Time Police I am now re-reading Elizabeth Cage and I was wondering whether the Sorensen clinic was precursor of the establishment where Max and Leon stayed and Dr. Bairstow was held? Elizabeth Cage seems to take place closer to present time while Dt. Mary is set in the future.Or maybe another incarnation in case St. Mary‘s and Elizabeth Cage are not in the same universe?

Can you please remind who Smallhope and Pennyroyal are. Which books have the appeared in? Clearly I need to go back and reread so I can remind myself who they are! Thank you for all the great stories! I absolutely love all these characters and have so much fun following them up and down the timeline!
