Hi Jodi, First of all, I want to thank you so very much for igniting my love of history. I did history GCSE at school, even though I got a C, I found it boring and you have really brought the subject to life for me. I was just wondering if you have seen the film about Mary Queen of Scots and if so what you thought of it? Thanks, Danielle X
Jodi Taylor
Hi Danielle, Thanks for your question. No, I haven't seen the film. I saw the trailer when they had her speaking with a Scottish accent instead of French and decided against it. Although, I did think that visually, it looked stunning. Have you seen it? What did you think?

The description of White Silence makes it sound a bit more serious than the St Mary's books - but even in the saddest parts of the Nothing Girl books there's still your characteristic funny bits. Does WS have them too? (It would be sad to read a Jodi Taylor book in which no one 'goes like a train' or has unanticipated consequences snowball hilariously.)

Hi Jodi, I LOVE your books. I tell all my friends (we studied history here in Mumbai) to read them. I want to move into St mary’s, lock, stock and barrel! I have been reading Hope for the Best, and something struck me - and I hope you don’t mind me asking - why are there no major characters (contemporaries of Max) of colour in the books? Mr Wolfe was the first one I noticed (unless I have missed something?)

It's the strangest things one suddenly notices when starting over from the beginning for the fourth or fifth time (I lost track). This time it's the uniform colours. We know the colours of historians, security, IT and technicians. What about R&D? Do they count as blue? Or the kitchen, or wardrobe, or the PA's or the library. If Dr Dowson is not usually in a brown grandpa cardigan and half-moon glasses, I shall riot!
