What was your inspiration for the book Fifty Words for Rain? It was a beautiful story, with amazing characters. I fell in love with Nori, and wondered if she is based on a real person?

Asha Lemmie Thank you so much Cathy! I was inspired to write this novel because I wanted to explore isolation, and the many ways in which we impose barriers between ourselves and others. Nori is not based on anyone directly, but she is loosely based off of some of my own experiences, and the experiences of people I’ve met.
