Goodreads asked Nancy Rubin Stuart:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Nancy Rubin Stuart Read everything you can -- from the classics to best sellers to graphic novels. By doing so, you will learn about the many techniques and styles authors employ to create their stories. Meanwhile you should be writing every day -- perhaps as a journal, a short story, or even an imaginary letter to a friend. By doing both, reading and writing daily, your literary skills will gradually improve. Start small, be patient and once you have more confidence you will be ready to tackle longer forms of writing.
