Shadowjac 16-17+ very bleak, dark and disturbing significant time is given to torturing someone, plus the Joker shoots someone, strips her naked, and takes photos of her (it's unknown if he did anything else to her naked body.)
Don't know where all the 15+ recommendations came from, this comic is much, much more inappropriate than people are saying.
Yousef 15 and up it had some those scary looks of Joker in the comic which is kinda creepy for a young child if you are planning to give it to one
Kirsten This is an adult graphic novel. If you intend to give it to a child, read it yourself first in order to determine whether your child is mature enough to read it or not.
Karan the age restriction is ambiguous. I read it when I was 11, I was brusque and impatient though. The book is ok, no bad language, it's rare that dc creates comics with such R rated themes or views. I would say 13-15, as there is one scene where the antagonist (The Joker..lol) takes photos of Barbaras nude body, nothing explicit is revealed. If you're impatient, anticipate, and have been waiting for this book, don't be too pedantic, their are only a few bad scenes.

Chelsea There is a darker tone to this one as Barbra is abducted and nude photos are taken of her. Keep that in mind. I recommend it for older teens.
