I am writing a story and I was wondering, how do you come up with the names for your antagonists and protagonists? Also, how do you come up with the name of your books? Thank You! P.S. I am a big fan of The Traitor's Game!
Jennifer A. Nielsen
Hi Madelyn - Thanks for being a fan of The Traitor's Game! Names for me come from three different sources. First is baby name books - Simon, Trina, that sort of thing. Other names are symbolic or descriptive, where the name is suggested by the person, place or thing. So the carnox is a carnivorous ox. The third is simply me combining the sound of letters until it sounds like the name I am looking for, such as Kestra.

After reading A Night Divided about a year ago, one thought really stuck to me 'Could someone make a book like this about North Korea?'. I'm sure you know that currently Korea is divided right now, kind of like Berlin, Germany. Do you think it would be possible (maybe not for you) for someone to make a book about a kid's struggle in North Korea? I would so look forward to a book like this. P.S I love your writing.

In both Ascendance and Traitors game there is the Ernabole Sea. I noticed that in the traitors game Joth tells Kestra that his people came from the other side of the Eranbole sea.In the Ascendance "Joth " is also the first name of "Kerwyn" In the shattered castle Kerwyn dies. So I was wondering, Does Kerwyn not actually die? Does he go across the Ernabole? Lucky coincedence? Thanks.

Hey Jennifer! I have been hooked on The False Prince series since I was in middle school, and nothing has changed now that I'm a college student. I just love Jaron to pieces! (Pretty sure one of my own characters manifested from him lol). But here's my question-would you consider writing POVs of characters other than Jaron in future books? Because I'd love to know what they're thinking when dealing his craziness!
