Hello! I recently began reading "Winterhouse" and am really enjoying "Winterhouse" so far. You are a fantastic author, and as an aspiring author myself, I enjoy having you to follow as an example. I have a quick question. What time period does "Winterhouse" take place during?

Ben Guterson Hi Mary--Thank you for your kind note. WINTERHOUSE is basically contemporary, taking place in about 2016-2017, though I tried to minimize references that might make the era of the book too conspicuous. Freddy does use a computer, however! I really wanted the book to have something of a "timeless" sensibility, so that the reader might imagine the story taking place half-a-century ago, perhaps. I'm not totally sure why I aimed for this sort of "feel," but I think I wanted the hotel and the overall environment to have a sort of nostalgic glow. I hope I succeeded!
