I really enjoyed reading The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell. I haven't read any of your other titles but Sam Hell seems very different from the descriptions of your other works. It reads non-fiction. Can you give me some details of how the story transpired - was it based on personal experience or someone you knew? When is the movie scheduled to be released? I hope they capture the heart of the story!

It is very different from my other work, but very much the type of novel I grew up reading. Every character and every novel is in a sense "Of" every author. So there are characters and events and places close to my own childhood. Sam is completely fictional, though I do have a brother born with Down Syndrome. Never had a Mickie in my life, or an Ernie. The movie was sold, but with the virus, all production in LA is on hold. So we're in a wait and see mode. Thanks for asking

I lived in Wauna, WA for several years and the Crosswhite series brings back all my memories there. I now live in Texas, regrettably (don't ask). I am a retired fraud investigator and had walls of scribbles that connected the dots. My question is how you keep all the characters straight. Do you use a genealogy/spreadsheet chart to remember who connects to whom? Or just by memory? I LOVE ALL YOUR BOOKS!!!

I was never much of a reader. No book ever kept my attention as an adult. I have read every book in the series. I recomend your books regularly. My question for you sir is how long does it take to finish your books from conception to the finished product? Thank you for the stories you have shared and thank you for your consideration.
