I read it during a period of depression and I loved it and felt less alone. But it also could prove harmful. The thing is, she knows people end up "successfully" commiting suicide. And a book is not likely to push someone over the edge and has a better chance of helping. However if she thinks she may want to read it, you should talk with her about the book. Also, is she getting help? If not, please talk to her parents. Tell them. Better to lose a friend then to end up visiting their grave. (less)
