What a gift your book, A Gentleman in Moscow, is to readers during this time of social distancing! As I read, I was once again heartened by Count Rostov's decision to make a good life for himself instead of restoring to "victimhood." A great lesson to your readers today. Did you somehow have the idea of the possibility of social distancing when you wrote the book?

Hello Amor, at one point I remember Rostov says that despite the Metropol's current state that it is still better than other establishments. I can't for the life of me find the original text from the book. I would be ever so happy for any clarification/quotes you may have?

Halfway thru the book, I went back to your bio because I was certain that you had to have been raised in Russia, or at least spent a lot of time there. It made me feel like I could understand a little better how people can live under such tyranny and still love their country and be happy. Have you spent time in Russia, or did you get all that just by studying history books?
