Following your social media I have observed the raw energy and passion you have for a myriad of subjects, which may come across as provocative, bringing trolls out of the woodwork, but I don't see it as "in-your-face" in your work. Have you ever felt the need to tone down your passion so that it is accepted by a wider audience or is it that the 400 pages allow you the time needed to explore a subject from many angles?

N.K. Jemisin I don't think my passion is particularly toned down in my fiction. I think it takes a different form -- Twitter requires a particular style, and novel writing requires something different. But it's the same person writing both, so I'm pretty sure the same feelings and thoughts underlie both. :)

I really love the Dreamblood duology. Setting the story on the moon of a gas giant makes for some really cool imagery. Do you have any plans to return to that setting? Are you the type of author who writes extensive worldbuilding notes beforehand, or do you come up with the setting as you write the story?
