William Cardini asked N.K. Jemisin:

I really love the Dreamblood duology. Setting the story on the moon of a gas giant makes for some really cool imagery. Do you have any plans to return to that setting? Are you the type of author who writes extensive worldbuilding notes beforehand, or do you come up with the setting as you write the story?

N.K. Jemisin I don't think I'll be returning to the Dreamblood setting. I have a short attention span. :) Generally once I've finished something, it's done and I don't want to revisit it. Anything's possible, of course; I'm doing a new novella in the Inheritance setting now -- but the Inheritance books are more recent for me, while it's been years since I wrote the Dreamblood books. I think if I was going to feel the tickle again, it would've happened by now. Sorry!

As for your worldbuidling question -- yes. :) I do both.
