It completely depends on the teen. The intended audience is adult. There are sex scenes, and some dark topics like abuse and a suicide cult.
Ms Lee
NO, NO, NO for a young teen. Ok for an older teen.
kynzi
depends on the teen lmao i'm fourteen and read way worse
Laura Milvy
I find there are many prudes answering this. There is never anything explicit. It is fine for teens.
Cathy
Nope. This is decidedly for adults. There are some pretty heavy sex scenes and 20 instances of strong language. However, I highly recommend her YA books "A Million Junes" and "The Love that Split the World." I love those, and they're more appropriate on content (on my Rated Reads website, I rate them both "moderate", like about a PG-13).
Rachel George
As a 15-year old, I enjoyed this and would recommend this to my friends. Obviously depends on the reading ability, but I think it was a good read
Alina Borger
...but Emily Henry does have an EXCELLENT YA title: A MILLION JUNES.
Sammi
No, there are some pretty detailed physical scenes
Sue Duronio
Definitely not for a young teen. An older one, maybe, depending on their maturity level. The sex scenes are pretty explicit. A 20-something trying to make her way in the world, yes!
WhoMadeMeAWeeb
Eh, honestly if I were a Middle Schooler and I read this it wouldn't have been that bad compared to other things I read back then. If the teen is mature enough, its fine.
Emilija Aukstiklanyte
I guess it depends, but I'm 16 years old and I absolutely loved this book.
Yolanda Boyd
I wouldn't recommend this to a young teen due to the sex scenes and some of the topics which might be considered mature. I have a 15 year old daughter who reads very advanced material, but I would not give this to her to read. Probably best for 17 years and older.
Jenny Preston
It's pretty spicy, and the plot is pretty heavy on disappointments in the main characters' 20s. I wouldn't give it to a teen myself.
Dee Martin
Was going to suggest Sarah Dessen who has written a lot of YA, some set on beaches (been awhile since I read some by her), but looking at your read shelf, might wait a bit.
Little Women is popular right now, so maybe try JO'S BOYS (which comes after LITTLE MEN) and characters in that have become teens. Some lesser known Alcott books include OLD FASHIONED GIRL, and JACK AND JILL (which I just re-read--characters are in early teens). My favorite is EIGHT COUSINS. All have e-book editions you might borrow free from public libraries. Have you read Frances Hodgson Burnett's LITTLE PRINCESS and SECRET GARDEN?

I wouldn't see a problem with giving this to a teen. People who are calling the sex scenes explicit have never read a truly spicy romance book. This is pretty tame.
Loraine Dalton
No, life is full of disappointment good life lesson, but a lot of description on sex that may make the teen sexually excited
Helene
No - there are graphic sex scenes and lots of drinking
bella ♡ ♡ (semi-hiatus)
It depends on the maturity level of the mind of the crowd. It was a good read and I think it would proceed well with people ranging in the ages 14+
Chantal
Absolutely not, there are like 2-3 sex scenes which involve nipples and touching them. Also the penis size is mentioned vaguely. NOPE
Rachael
No. Not appropriate for a young teen
