garo asked N.K. Jemisin:

you write chars with tons of different intersections, but weirdly this is not something that most novelists are doing. do you have any advice for folks lagging behind on writing from other's (esp marginalized & invisible) perspectives? & do you have any sff recs that have Xs of poc, queer, neurodivergent, polyam (agh word limit) chars that aren't like "bro, what if , bro?" tysm 4 everything!!

N.K. Jemisin In answer to your first question, check out Nisi Shawl and Cynthia Ward's WRITING THE OTHER. There are many books and articles out there about how to do inclusive, intersectional writing. Beyond that, I don't really have an answer; I *live* at several intersections of identity, and I've read Kimberle Crenshaw, so it's just a thing I understand and thus apply to my work.

No recs offhand, sorry.
