When you wrote the first book(s) in any of your series, did you know they were going to be series rather than standalone novels? Do you have any advice on structuring plot and balancing it with setting and character? Thank you for your wonderful writing!

Yes, I knew. When I put together outlines, I write the whole story out -- generally in 3 arcs, since almost everything I've done has been a trilogy thus far. I have to do this for my publisher's sake. As for "structuring plot and balancing it with setting and character"... dude, that's just "writing." :) I could write a whole book on that. Lots of other writers have, so check theirs out!

Following your social media I have observed the raw energy and passion you have for a myriad of subjects, which may come across as provocative, bringing trolls out of the woodwork, but I don't see it as "in-your-face" in your work. Have you ever felt the need to tone down your passion so that it is accepted by a wider audience or is it that the 400 pages allow you the time needed to explore a subject from many angles?
