Idea for a short story. You know how Mary loved to take Erik into mirror fun-houses? What if Erik goes into one because he is missing Marry, only this one is magic. It show physic reflections of how you are seen by others, both as images and a physic understanding. Ex. Christiana's reflected image of Eric would show the THING that eats souls while last mirror would show Eric his own self image and force him KNOW it.?

Well, there are a couple of things that leap to mind. First, I'll have to figure out who built this funhouse and how Eric could stumble into such a powerful artifact without noticing. Next, I'll have to come up with a reason for him not to leave. Then we'll have to deal with Eric understanding himself fully and, presumably, accepting who he is.
I'm not sure we want him doing that. It would fundamentally change his relationship dynamics with... well, a whole lot of things, including some universes.

Hey Garon! I'm on book 2 of the series, and literally everyone i have grown to care for (Minus Erik) have died and been replaced. I really love your style of writing, and i love the world and magic systems you have created. However, i was wondering if the characters introduced from books 3-6 stick around? I've reached a point where i don't form any attachments to Erik, as i expect them to die before the book ends.

Are we ever going to get resolution to the setup for the first book? From what I've read you are pretty set against using time travel to hand wave problems away. I'm just really curious why Eric never thinks about the fact that it seems highly likely he reincarnated? Or who created firebrand if Eric didn't? I guess the real question is are we going to get a prequel?

This question is a bit out of leftfield, but have you ever considered a crossover with the Dresden Files universe? I just can't get the idea out of my head. I mean Eric hops between worlds all the time. They are both strong, smart and authoritative hero-types with a dark side. Dresden is a snarky smartass while Eric is big on politeness. Dresden deals with ancient scary supernatural beings and Eric is one. Thoughts?
