(view spoiler)[Hey Garon! I'm on book 2 of the series, and literally everyone i have grown to care for (Minus Erik) have died and been replaced. I really love your style of writing, and i love the world and magic systems you have created. However, i was wondering if the characters introduced from books 3-6 stick around? I've reached a point where i don't form any attachments to Erik, as i expect them to die before the book ends. (hide spoiler)]

One of the problems with an immortal, is the mortality of friends. If Eric lives a thousand years, he's going to go through whole generations of people.
But on the time scale of "Shadows," yes, there are people who stick around. Some of them even last for more than one book!

(2/2) who fits that particular bill. Especially with having dark churches and wicked minions spreading evil on Earth-lines. Is Eric dealing with the thing that inspired the tales of Lucifer? If so, Angels might not necessarily be against lending him a hand. Valan (Velan? Velen?) certainly seemed like he was troubled by Eric's fairness towards him, and considering the wider implications.

Idea for a short story. You know how Mary loved to take Erik into mirror fun-houses? What if Erik goes into one because he is missing Marry, only this one is magic. It show physic reflections of how you are seen by others, both as images and a physic understanding. Ex. Christiana's reflected image of Eric would show the THING that eats souls while last mirror would show Eric his own self image and force him KNOW it.?

Mr Whited, thank you for your series, utterly brilliant and I reread them regularly. I’ve noticed that Penumbra was released 3 years after fugue. Would you be able to enlighten us as to whether it will be a similar timeframe for the next release? I appreciate you’re probably not thinking about that quite so soon. But was rather hoping you might be aiming for the previous 18month turn around you had previously.
