Ben do you feel language fails us as a tool of communication and emotional expression? So much of your work involves degraded language not working for its 'end users'

Ben Marcus I feel the opposite. It amazes me that we can make these strange sounds to each other and feel so comforted, so understood. But the system seems precarious, vulnerable. I worry about its collapse. Part of writing, to me, is figuring out the most interesting things to be afraid of.
