Do you do outlines for your stories, or do you just have a vague idea, creating as you go?

Nenia Campbell I usually have a vague idea about what I want to write about. If I outline a story, the outline usually comes after I start writing, to help keep my story in order. One of my WIPs actually does have an outline, but that's because it has multiple intersecting timelines that would have me pulling my hair out if I tried to pants it.
