Mr. Gagne- Ancestry.com reports that 'Before the King's Daughters' includes departure data, destinations, biographies and contracts. I'm writing to ask you if you might quickly check your index to see if those pieces of information are available for Marie Simon b.1625 in Chavy, Indre, Centre, France (my 8th grandmother)? If so, I'll order your book with great excitement immediately, Thanks!

Hello, Douglas -
I thought I had replied to you earlier, but obviously didn't. In my biography of Marie Simon, I was able to find her origins in France, departure/arrival year, marriage contract and spouse information, children's information, and her information on her death.
I hope that answers your quesiton.

Peter J. Gagne:
How can I get a copy of the index you authored for the 30 book set "Our French-Canadian Ancestors" in English? I have seen it in a library. I began collecting the books two years ago, and later bought the digital copy of 30 books, but there is so much information even in the other books, that I would love to be able to find these bits on my ancestors when they come up in other people's story. Thanks!

Dear Mr. Gagne, As a descendant of Mme. Marguerite Sauvoit and Jacques Mousseau, I was fascinated to read your book on the “Filles a Marrier”. The women who were married that day were special and I feel the event should be recorded in a painting, even possibly a series of paintings. This was such a momentous occasion in the history of Montreal. Do you know of any paintings created to mark the occasion?

continued as I ran out of characters? I would absolutely cite your books. Having said this, I cannot guarantee that generations from now, someone may not make additional copies or post the contents on ancestry. ca. Thank you for doing this hard work Peter. Take care!
