(view spoiler)[Was it difficult to write the ending? I loved it (even though I cried throughout the last 150 pages). Did you know you were going to have Mary's ending the way you wrote it? For me, personally, she was a sympathetic character. Lastly, thank you for accurately portraying the justice system w/rape cases - victims rarely get justice. (hide spoiler)]

Hi Meggie! Thank you so much. I'm so happy that you loved Miracle Creek. (And I also love that the last 1/3 of the book made you cry! I personally love stories that make me cry!) The ending was not difficult to write, as it was a natural consequence of everything that had come before. It was cathartic, more than anything else. I didn't know anyone's endings until about a year into writing the novel, as I didn't know who was responsible for the fire or how it started until I was halfway through writing the novel. And finally, thank you for your comment about rape cases. I'm so happy to hear you say that because I've been asked a lot about it. As much as we want justice for the victims, it's simply not realistic to think that anything meaningful would have happened with this case, especially 10 years ago! Thank you for recognizing that.

Hi Angie - I loved you book. It touched on so many issues we all deal with - or know someone who does: motherhood, and what is right and wrong and who is to judge; the depths we go to, to protect our children; the differences in cultures; etc. You came to the US at age 11. Did your father come with you or did he stay in Korea like Pak did? And if he did stay - what impact did that have on your life?

I loved Miracle Creek. Smartly written and engaging. You always ended each character's POV with a hook, it kept me wanting to read past bedtime! haha! Are you going to write a prequel or sequel to this one? Theres so much more to explore with Pak, Young and Mary. I so enjoyed your story. I can see why BOTM made Miracle Creek an April selection. Congratulations on all the praise. It's well deserved!

Hi Angie - the review I left on Goodreads is the same one I tried to leave on B&N. They refused it due to "profanity". I have reviewed many books on BN.com with no problem, but this is the third one in 2023 which they rejected for profanity, which doesn't exist! I have reached out to B&N as to why? with no answer. I wanted to leave a great review, but couldn't. Maybe you can find out what the problem is.
