Jane Nicolet Since I'm immersed in two books: The Nightingale and Lethal White, those are the situations I can best respond about right now. Rather that traveling back in time to occupied France during World War II, and find myself trying to survive under a brutal regime, I'm choosing an easier path. In Lethal White, set in 21st century London, I can shadow a young, ambitious woman who is both intelligent and courageous as she balances an unhappy marriage with the exciting apprenticeship in a detective agency. Robin is learning and growing personally and professionally as she follows the lead of her tortured hero boss, Strike. I wouldn't miss a day of this ride for as long as it lasts.
