I'm currently re-reading Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy (Red Mars, Green Mars, and Blue Mars). They're in that sub-genre of science-fiction that's almost future history, and as someone who loves both SF and history, that's a winning combination for me. So far I've done Red and Green, and have just started on Blue.
In and around that, I read the Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal. I thought that was a pretty good read, and pre-ordered the sequel (which I think is out later this month).
