I am really confused by the character of Ava. Was she always a swan that was made into a human? Did they somehow make her into a swan before she died? If she was an animal turned human, who did that? Maybe I missed something, it was late when I was reading this, but that whole storyline had me confused.

Samantha is schizophrenic. Ava was a hallucination. She was just hanging out with a Swann the whole time.
