Of …moreDan Brown came out with his first books at a time when such books were rather rare. He really defined a new subgenre in thrillers back in the day. Of course, now there are authors who came along with more polished works. Dan Brown's novelty is long gone, while authors like Blake Crouch are newcomers with fresh ideas for our own times. I do enjoy Blake Crouch's work, but I have to admit that back in the day when Dan Brown became big with his Da Vinci Code, I loved that book as well for its unusual idea.(less)
