Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Andrew J. Brandt It came about as a "what-if" scenario. When I was a kid, my friends and I would innocently sneak out at night. Never looking to get into trouble, but just hang out and walk around the neighborhood at night. Things seemed so different at night. So, I had the idea of, what if you snuck out of the house one night and saw something you weren't supposed to see? What if you witnessed a murder? Would you or could you tell someone what you saw? How would the guilt eat at you? How heavy is that before a teenager breaks down? Those questions were definitely at the forefront of my mind as I wrote The Treehouse.
